This is an amazing briefcase — built for all kinds of expeditions. It’s casual but boardroom ready. Separate padded laptop compartment fits a 16 inch MacBook Pro or 15 inch HP Omen. Super light weight — a full two pounds lighter then my previous leather briefcase. Ecopak is sturdy but not rigid with a subtle sheen and soft feel. It’s smooth — not abrasive like high denier Cordura. The diamond pattern is subtle compared to many X-Pac bags.

The bag stands on its own and the main compartment is very spacious and has five internal pockets (one is zippered) that can accommodate charging blocks, hand sanitizer, eye glass cases, a small tech organizer and other sundries. It is fully lined. The front zippered pocket and back pocket/ luggage pass through are perfect for quick stashing of thin items like magazines or when traveling. The only con is the strap was a little short for me (which was remedied by Flowfold at a small expense) and it was unpadded (so I needed to attach one to make it more shoulder friendly). An internal water bottle loop on the side would have been nice to see as well but really doesn't detract too much because there is plenty of room to make one fit upright if there are other items in the bag.

Overall, a great bag for work or as a personal item for travel or for everyday use. I am really enjoying this briefcase.

After one week with this bag I am smitten! I truly look forward to picking it up in the morning, because it makes traveling with everything I need a breeze.

It is the perfect companion to work, well thought out, durably constructed in Maine, and it has a minimalist aesthetic that somehow sacrifices nothing!

Details. I carry a Macbook Pro 16" & charger, a Franklin Covey day planner, a couple files, journal & pen and a smattering of odds & ends (cables, mints, earbuds, glasses, sunglasses) etc.. The organization of the compartments makes it so that anything can be accessed at anytime without having to unload the entire bag!
